I have an image of the evil child catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the look of joy on all the children's faces when they were released from his wicked grasp! Whilst they may now be out of work there can't be many of Blackpool's ex-players who aren't secretly relieved that they won't have to return to Gloomfield Road next season. |

Hardly seems worth summoning the energy to write a preview for a game which effectively is a dead rubber. Blackpool are down whilst Sheffield Wednesday will get the pleasures of the Championship again next season. Ironic that such a badly run club like the one at Hillsborough survives whilst the Seasiders go down - what does that say about events at Bloomfield Road this season?! |

Two games unbeaten for Lee Clark's side but four games without a win is the real stat. If Blackpool had won the last four games then they'd be knocking on the door to safety which shows that it can be done, however the chances of the Seasiders putting together a four game unbeaten run are as likely as Jeffrey Rentmeister being the next presenter of Top Gear. Another tough away trip takes 'Pool to Griffin Park where they face a Brentford surprise who have been one of the surprise packages in the Championship this season and could well end up in the top tier next season if they're form continues. |

You could have put money on the fact that after 15 months of only scoring one goal at home that when Blackpool did eventually score more than one that we wouldn't go on and win the game. In the end, no one would have predicted we'd score four and still not win but the fact that the Seasiders were down to effectively 8 men for the last 15 minutes of the game and still came out with a point is credit to the players. |

Tuesday night games were always a favourite in our household. Early tea, flask filled with coffee, woolies on and head to Bloomfield Road under the floodlights. It's fair to day that the magic of that, even when we used to be in the old Division Four, has waned in recent times and now there is more a nervous dread than any anticipation for those who still brave the evening games. At least these days they're a 7.45 kick off which means the pain doesn't go on until too late. |

Embarrassing, humiliating, inevitable and a sad reflection of where we are as a football club. Sometimes Blackpool have been getting away with results that have probably flattered us somewhat. Last week's shots on target by Wolves should have served as a warning about what might happen if a team had some players who could hit the back of the net and on Saturday we found that team in Watford. An awful afternoon for Lee Clark who could only find solace in the fact that three of the next four games are at home. Clearly he's forgotten the state of the Bloomfield Road pitch and the baying crowd! |

The last time the Seasiders headed to Villa Park, it ended in one of the most talked about games of the Premier League season - for all the wrong reasons. Ian Holloway put out a Blackpool side that featured 10 changes from the team that drew 2-2 against Everton the previous weekend with six of those players, including skipper Jason Euell, making their first Premier League start. When fans look back to that season and wonder where we could have picked up those couple of points which would have ensured our top flight survival, this is one of those games that is regularly mentioned. |

So to the halfway point of the season. After we've played Rotherham, there'll be 23 games on the point and at the moment 13 points to show for it. In the second half of last season we mustered just 14 points, so at least Lee Clark and his side have a chance to better what their predecessors did at the start of the year. Either way less than 30 points for what is effectively a whole season of football reflects where we're up to. We are in real relegation form and it's unlikely even the most optimistic Blackpool fan will feel we'll get out of this in 2015. |

A red card, a poor penalty conceded, a defeat on the road and a manager questioning where Lady Luck is. There is the story of 2014 in a nutshell. Whilst few expected major successes this year few will have predicted what has happened at Bloomfield Road this year. Even the biggest Oyston critic can't have expected the club to have fallen to this level of disarray and despair. |

After the 6-1 defeat to Bournemouth, one of the comments I heard whilst leaving Bloomfield Road was 'that won't be the game that gets us relegated'. In truth, it won't help our cause but the damage was done way before Lee Clark arrived and tried to patch up the mess that he inherited. The Good Ship Blackpool is going down quickly unless Clark can stop the leaks and quickly. Conceding six goals against the Cherries only tells half the story because the lack of goals at the other end has arguably been our greatest downfall this season. |
